Subject: SWRB draft Scope of Practice
Kia ora koutou
As you will be aware, the SWRB is developing a scope of practice for social work in concert with a sector-led working group. I attach the draft scope, and the brief history of the inclusion of a scope of practice in the Act and an introduction to the development of the scope.
Please share the documents attached with your networks and encourage them to share as widely as possible, with their networks. We would like the Scope to reach as many social workers, employers and people using social work services as possible.
Please let us know if you think the Scope of Practice provides a high level description of social work in Aotearoa. Written feedback will be welcomed up until Monday the 5th October. Please send it to us at consultation@swrb.govt.nz
Here’s the link to the website where additional messaging will be able to be found https://swrb.govt.nz/social-workers/practising/scope-of-practice/
We will be running two zoom webinars to answer any questions you may have – these will be on the 16th and 23rd of September from 12-1pm. Here is the link https://zoom.us/j/91660173960
If any of your members/networks would like us to arrange zoom discussions in addition to those below, please let me know.
You will also be aware of the survey we have out for feedback on the Code of Conduct, ahead of us reviewing this document later in the year. We will be closing the Survey on the 18th September. Here’s the link https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/6PM6WJD
