Kōwhai de Thierry says she doesn’t think she will ever watch The Lion King in English again.
Kōwhai, who is the raukura tuatahi (first graduate) of Te Kura Kaupapa Māori o Tuia te Matangi and her 23 month old daughter ‘KaariamaiPāpa de Thierry-Moli saw the Lion King in te reo at Silky Otter Cinemas on Thursday, along with 55 students from the kura.
It was a surprise outing for many of the tamariki, who kaihautū tari (office manager) Janis de Thierry said were “so excited”.
