as part of Home And Away's Māori family
Kawakawa Fox-Reo was only months out of the New Zealand drama school Toi Whakaari when he joined Home And Away as the youngest member of the Australian drama’s first Māori family.
Fast-forward three years, and the Hawke’s Bay actor found himself on stage alongside his co-stars, accepting this year’s Logie for the most popular television drama.
“I was excited to be there but a little bit nervous as well,” the 24 year old says of mixing with some of Australia’s most famous faces at the television awards, the first to be held since the pandemic began in 2020.
Fox-Reo says the win was the result of a lot of hard work by everyone involved with what is now – following the axing of Neighbours – Australasia’s longest-running soap.
