A man who blew $3.1 million on bad investments, then tried to hide it all by making false letters, has failed to get his conviction lessened.
The Court of Appeal ruled on Monday the punishment dished out to Te Whitinga Mark Huirua was just.
Huirua is serving two years and 11 months’ jail for fraud charges relating to him losing $3.1 million of Ngā Rauru Kītahi funds.
He was hired to work for the south Taranaki iwi investment company Te Pataka o Rauru in 2016.
